Under the Weather

I was supposed to go for a sleep test this Thursday evening. Wouldn't you know it, Monday evening I started feeling like I'm getting another cold. Well today, even after taking cold pills every 4 hours all day, there is no doubt about it. I have another cold! Dang it anyway! I called the Sleep Clinic this evening and left a message that I will have to reschedule. After all, if I can't get a good sound sleep how will they know if something is wrong or not.

Wilma went to the Dr's today about the cough she has had for awhile now. He thinks it could be the side effect of one of her medications. He changed it but told her it would take a couple days for it to get out of her system. I'm really hoping he is right. The coughing spells are pretty bad.

I've been looking for the past two weeks on the web for the most recommended DSLR camera's. I've narrowed it down to either a Nikon or Canon. What a hard decision....you know the saying, "information overload". Well I have got it. But I have to say I'm much better informed now.

Been looking all over at prices and packages. Called Scott, my brother-in-law today. He is CEO of Scott Green Photography. Who best to ask? I realize there is a huge difference in professional and novice camera's but he related to what I had in mind. He did some checking from his suppliers. Called me back with a package he thought was pretty good. Pretty good! WOW! Amazing! SOLD! is what I remember saying to him. I should have it by the middle of next week. I can hardly wait. I believe you will be able to see for yourself the quality of pictures on this Blog in the future. At least you better be able to see a difference!

One of the 5 phone calls I received this evening concerning Lodge was from Wayne. It seems as though he came down with Bronchitis and won't be able to come over tomorrow evening for more training. It's for the best because I'm not feeling that great either. Wayne is going to take over the Secretaries job at the Lodge. After 11 years I think I've had enough. I can hardly wait for him to take it over. Of course that means that I'm going to have to buy another computer, as this one belongs to the Lodge and Wayne will be taking it over to his home. You know what that means....Vista for me.....ooooohhhhh nnnnooooo! scary.

Well enough rattling on. Be good, be safe and God Bless!

Dinner at Judy’s

Picasa Content

As Judy received a DVD player from us for Christmas, she invited us over for dinner and to install the DVD player.

WOW what a great Ham dinner she prepared! I almost stuffed myself it was soooo good, but I maintained and held back on a third helping!
After dinner I completed the installation of the DVD player, but it was a challenge. You know, when I was in my 20's I could hook up these electronic gizmo's with my eyes closed. Now I have really concentrate and go over everything twice. But I have to admit, I DIDN'T USE THE ENCLOSED INSTALLATION BOOKLET! You know those so called instruction books, the ones that are almost completely useless because they were written by someone who doesn't understand our language!
After a half hour I had it hooked up and working. Then came the surprise.
Look back at an earlier Blog, around the October 2007 time frame when Judy went camping with us. What I did was make a Movie using all those pictures and adding music. I used Movie Maker to produce the video. I have to say, it came out pretty darn good. And wow was she surprised!

She didn't know I had it until I told her to have a seat and watch. As you can see from the photo of her, she was really happy with the video. Especially when I told her I was giving her the video! It brought a tear to her eyes.
It makes me feel great when I can make someone else so happy with doing so little.
Until next time, God Bless and be safe.

The Lodge Won’t Be The Same...too bad for them!

Well, Tina decided last Friday that she didn't want the job of "Janitor" at the Lodge. After hearing what her meeting was about I can't blame her a bit for quitting. I won't go into it here.

I just hope she will be able to find replacement work to pick up for the loss of income. The girl is really struggling financially since the State cut the food stamp allocation to her. Loosing $300.00 a month in food allowances would hurt anyone. Hang in there Toots! Everything has just got to be alright, God wouldn't have it any other way.

Angel is also struggling. The State cut her food stamp allocation also! What's going on with this State! Angel is working during the day at the School, then 3 evenings a week she is going to Baker College.

Someday Angel, it will all come together. Hang in there! Make it happen.

To Everyone, Be safe and God Bless.

Free Phone Information

I just learned of a FREE phone service from Google! It's so neat I just have to pass it along to you.

If your at a land line phone, dial 1-800-GOOG-411. ( 1-800-466-4411).

Search a business by name or category. Search by name (Jets Pizza) or category (Pizza).

Connect to the business directly, free of charge. No need to write down a note or memorize a long phone number. 1-800-GOOG-411 connects you free of charge.

GOOG-411 is voice activated, so you can access it from any phone, (Mobil or land line) in any location, at any time, FOR FREE!

This is really great! Just dial the toll free number and say the "City and State", then what type of business you want like, (Buick Dealership) (Pizza) (Post Office), and it will tell you the address and phone number of several choices. It will then ask if you want to have them call one of them for you, or if you wish to have more info on them.

When you pick the business your looking for from the furnished list, tell Goog-411 to "dial" it for me.

That's all there is to it. It's great, it works, and I plan on really using it when I'm in an unfamiliar area.

Here is a LINK to get more information.

How I like this company named Google! Too bad I didn't buy stock in the company when they first opened their doors.

I’m impressed!

Wow...I have received a comment from someone who doesn't respond in English. As I don't know any other language, it looks like it might be Spanish. And as I don't know what the person said I really can't allow it to be published for all to read.

Hopefully "CresceNet" won't be too upset with me. And I'm hoping this person can write in English and responds again.

I think it's neat that someone would take the time to respond to a blog entry of mine. The power of the internet! It's amazing.

On to other items.

Wilma talked to her brother Eddie this evening. He is still pretty upset on the death of his step daughter, and rightly so. He is going back to work tomorrow. Hopefully this will help him. Our prayers still go out to the family of Brandy.

The flu bug that I've been battling the last 2 months is starting to leave me. Thank God! Did it ever do a number on me. I almost forgot how good it feels to feel almost normal. Now we have to keep an eye on Wilma. She still has this cough every once in a while. A dry type of cough. She has had this for at least 3 months now. Have to say one thing though, what ever the Dr. gave her for the flu she had seemed to attack the cough also. Maybe it will also go away in the near future.

Not much else going on. Stop by again.

Until then...be safe and God Bless.

Christmas Get together

December 30, 2007

Our family (my side of the family) had our Annual Christmas Get Together at the Best Western Concord Inn on Sunday December 30th.
As Catherine, my sister, lives "up north" now. When they come in to town for a visit, they stay at this Hotel. Very nice! As Scott, her husband, does business with the Concord Inn, they arranged for us all to have a family get together for Christmas.

We all had a great time exchanging gifts after we had a great lunch together.

Following the exchange of gifts the pool was open for every ones use.

Wilma and I still are feeling "under the weather" so we decided to pass on the pool swim.

Come back again for more adventures of ours.
