Morning Storm

We heard from the weather forecasters last night that a strong storm was headed our way. So before we came in for the night I put our lounge chairs back in storage and Wilma removed the table cloth from the picnic table.

Sure as expected around 7am this morning the storm hit us. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. The morning forecasters on TV were telling everyone to expect 60 MPH wind gusts with rain. They were showing West of here the damage of fallen trees and power lines. It’s now 9am the rain is just about stopped. We are getting gusts of wind but I don’t believe they are 60 MPH winds. The MH hasn’t even rocked with the gusts. And that’s just fine with me.

Before the storm hit Wilma went outside to try and take some pictures of the darkening sky. It was still dark outside so the pictures don’t do justice.

Today we are going to drive around up and down the coast. The last time we were here was back in ‘93. There has been so much new construction we don’t even recognize the place.

It’s 1:30pm and we are back from our drive. We had to replenish some groceries so we decided to stop at the local Super Wal Mart.

Looks like they are having a sale or something with a line of people headed for the door. DSC_2168

We didn’t find any “gotta have” items on sale, so we just purchased what we needed and left. It was getting close to lunch so we decided to stop at the small bar-n-grill that was recommended to us by our waitress last night. She said they make the best cheese burger and all the locals go there. Just a little “hole in the wall” was how she described it.

She was right, there were plenty of locals there. Seemed everyone that walked in knew somebody else already there and called them by their name.

From there Wilma wanted to check out a couple “souvenier” shops.

We stopped here for a quick look around. DSC_2171

She found a few items here also.

Just can’t pass up any good deals! There were many in here to be had. DSC_2170

Getting back to our place we decided to sit out on the patio taking in the sun. Just a bit chilly though at only 60 outside.

We really don’t have any plans for the rest of the day. So….

Until next time, be safe and God Bless.

  1. We had the big storm come thru last night as well, but it was certainly not as bad as it was farther north in AL and GA.

  2. I'm glad to hear you made it through the storm. Hey even 60 degrees is better than the temps in the north. Happy shopping and restauranting!!!
