The weather forecast for today is Sunny with a high temperature of 85 F. What a perfect day to go to the beach and get some sun. And some sun we all did get!
The bad weather North of us through Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio is sending some strong winds our way. The winds were at least 30 MPH and we had to be careful with the umbrella’s.
We sat under the umbrella’s because it’s the last thing we want to do is get a bad sun burn the first few days here of our month long stay.
The photo actually makes the beach look more crowded then what it actually was.
It wasn’t long until Wilma got near the surf, looking for shells. Followed by everyone else. And some pretty nice shells were found. She actually found one that was shaped in the form of a ring that she could fit on her finger!
With the strong wind blowing in the surf, it started eroding some of the beach area further up away from the water. You can see all the shells mixed in with the sand.
I talked to a local resident and he said that this strong wind and high waves were rare for this time of year. Usually the water is like glass, which is what it looked like yesterday.
He said the water is usually about 30 Feet further out than it is in these photo’s.
It wasn’t long and Gary and I just had to get into the water. Wow was it refreshing! We tried to do some body surfing like when we were younger, but no it didn’t work. Lets just say there is a little more of us now then back then and it was easier to get pushed by the waves.
After 4 hours on the beach we figured we had more sun then we needed and headed for home. As I write this Blog, I can feel my face stinging and getting tighter.
Tomorrow the cold front is supposed to come through and the high is only supposed to get to 74 F. with a little rain.
Until next time, be safe and God Bless.
