Now in Adairsville, GA

We left Lexington, KY this morning by 8am. With the roads clean and dry, no snow or ice, we made good time. Getting closer to Tennessee, with the higher elevation of the Mountains we noticed some snow on the mountainsides.

As we climbed higher in the Mountains, the temperature dropped. Ice covered the trees.

But it wasn’t long and we were entering Georgia. It also wasn’t long and we found ourselves at a dead stop on I-75. Turning on the CB I heard that there was an accident 6 miles ahead with 2 of the 3 lanes blocked completely. Seems an RV was involved, jack knifed, and was on it’s side blocking 2 lanes. We don’t know how much earlier the accident happened, just that we were at a dead stop.

An hour later we passed the scene of the accident. Nothing, no sign of any accident except some dirt on the side of the interstate where it could have happened. The rescue and clean up crew did one great job. Hopefully no one was hurt, although I suspect someone’s planned trip South was ruined.

The scene of the accident was just 25 miles from our next stop in Adairsville. Even so, we pulled in to Leisure Time RV Park around 3pm for the night. This park is a Passport America park, with the discount it cost us just $15.00. All I can say for this park is “you get what you pay for”. The only plus I can think of is free wi-fi.

Oh well, it’s a place to stop for a restful sleep, hopefully a quiet night. Sorry..we didn’t even want to take a picture of the place, if that tells you something. But here is a photo of Kybee. This is where he travels in the Motorhome.

Until next time, be safe and God Bless.

  2. So glad to hear that you are safe and sound in Georgia! Wish the RV park was a bit nicer for you, but as you said, it's a place to park and sleep and that's all that is really needed right now. Safe travels tomorrow!
