My Truck Recalled

Last Friday I received in the mail a "Safety Recall Notice" from Ford Motor Company. Recall Notice Seems my baby is sick, and I didn't even know it.
Yes! There is a recall on my 2014 F-150. The Brake Master Cylinder could be bad and needs to be replaced. Made an appointment today with the dealer. This Thursday at 8AM my truck will be taken care of.
Man O Man. I'm glad it didn't fail when we had the 5th. wheel hooked up. That could have been extremely bad, possibly death. Don't want to even think of the outcome of something like that.

Until Next Time, Be Safe And God Bless.

Fall...When Days Speed Up

One of the prettiest seasons here where we live, Fall. The colors of the trees this year seem more vibrant than in past years. Maybe because this past summer was so warm and dry.
Neighbors tree turned first this year.
Someone must have been feeding the squirrels this year as there seems to be an abundance of them. Plus they seem to be "not afraid" of getting close to humans and dogs! We had a laugh one morning watching the squirrel tease Kybee. Seemed they were playing a game of Hide and Seek.
Peek A Boo, here I am.

Ever notice how the days seem to "speed up" in the Fall? I sure do. Maybe it's because the days loose sunlight earlier, or maybe because there seems to be so much work that needs to be done. Today, October 25th. just 2 months until Christmas! Wow!

Yesterday I put the clipping bags on the mower. Caught the clippings along with what leaves were on the grass and spread them in the garden. After mowing the lawn, with shovel in hand, I turned over the earth in the garden covering the layer of leaves/grass clippings. It will rest now until next Spring.

I had a number of things that I wanted done to the 5th. wheel before our Annual trip. Power Vent Fan, Tires, Batteries. I knew that having a 5th. wheel RV, it would be warmer in the bedroom than any other area of the RV. We like it cool when sleeping, and thought that the two windows and roof vent would be adequate. But we found that there wasn't enough air movement to draw out the heat. A couple weeks ago I installed a new Fantastic Roof Vent Fan. That will take care of our needs for cooling in the bedroom.

The next thing that had to be done was replace the "China Bombs" as there called in the RV business with new tires. After doing much research I chose Maxxis Brand Tires. These tires are rated as one of the best for RV's. It's also the ONLY trailer tire manufactured outside China, it being manufactured in Taiwan.
Photo off of the web, not my tires.
Discount Tire, where I purchased them, gave me a 10 year warranty! Now I know they won't last that long, and they won't be on my 5th. wheel more than 6 years.

When traveling we like to stop over night at Walmart once in awhile. The battery that is furnished with a new RV is what I call a "bottom of the line" battery. They are not even "Deep Cycle" but combination deep cycle/starting batteries which sounds like they are a better battery, but their not. When we had the Winnebago Motorhome, we had 2 of those batteries hooked together. They lasted through the night, but we didn't use our furnace. I knew we would need to purchase 2 batteries, so I chose to buy 2 Golf Cart 6 Volt batteries. These are "true" deep cycle batteries and supply power for a much longer time than the original battery. Costco had just 5 of them left on their shelve so I purchased 2 of them at a great price.

Getting them installed correctly, wired in series, and in their own enclosed/vented container, I'm certain we won't have any problems with not having enough power for a night stop at Walmarts.
Cables not hooked, but container size is plenty large enough.
Cables hooked up, vent installed, and cover closed.
The outdoor temps this morning was resting at 38F. Getting close to having to Winterize the RV. That will be done in a day or two. Then just pack a few items that will be needed this winter and we will be ready.

Celebrated our eldest Grand Daughters birthday the other day. Hit the big 24 this year! Man O Man am I getting OLD!

Until next time, be safe and God Bless.

Our “Baby Daughter” Gets Married

Yesterday was a special day for our family. Our  “Baby” daughter Tina was married. 20161008_092536

The wedding was to be performed at the Mt. Clemens Gazebo, by the Mayor, Barb Dempsey.MC Gazebo All eyes were on the Bride and Groom as they approached to make their vows.20161008_10181020161008_101822

Mayor Barb gave a beautiful ceremony, all went well and smooth….until the best man “Mike” dropped the ring prior to handing it off to Jason. You will notice that the Gazebo has space between the floor boards. Plus it slightly extends over the river. When the ring hit the deck there was a gasp from everyone. Surprised smile But Mike made a swift grab and recovered the ring before it might of made it’s way to the river. Even Mayor Barb had to re-compose herself after the ring was in Jason’s hand. The rest of the ceremony went on beautifully.20161008_102323

The parents also made a record of the happy occasion.20161008_102503

After the ceremony everyone headed over to our home for a delicious meal and great conversations.20161008_11100820161008_111746

Wilma made the cake, decorated it, and made sure there were roses placed on each table. Great job Hon!20161008_114148

It was a bright sunny day, perfect for an outdoor wedding, and we wish this wonderful family all the happiness for the rest of their lives.20161008_102625

Another Lesson Learned.

This morning I was looking the photo’s online in my Google Photo’s. Found many to be duplicate.

Thought to myself…..why so many duplicates? Even though they were uploaded to use no space in the cloud, I decided to delete the duplicates. That made it “look” better when viewing them all.

Then I went over to my Blog to re-read my last post! OH NO!!! A PROBLEM WITH THE BLOG!

Do Not Delete Any Photo’s From Your Google Photo’s. Doing so and you will loose the link to those you used in your Blog. I was un-aware that the photo’s somehow are shared between the two Google services.

So, for the past couple hours I tried to re-upload the last post via my “Open Live Writer” software. Google rejected the upload. I then deleted and re-inserted the photo’s in Open Live Writer and re-uploaded. Google rejected the upload again!

As a last resort I went to the Blogger dashboard and created a “new” post. This time Google posted it.

So if you received another notification of an update to my Blog, and noticed it was, or looked to be the same as my last post, you now know the reason.

Sorry to all, and I’ve learned yet another lesson.

Until next time, be safe and God Bless.

Outdoors Adventure Grand Haven Park

This was the first time we have seen the city of Grand Haven, and what a pleasant surprise for both of us. We arrived Sunday afternoon, we stayed at Outdoor Adventures Grand Haven Park and our Campsite was a pull through in a lightly wooded area.
Parked behind us was our best friends, Gray and Cheryl.
The next day we toured The City of Grand Haven. A small “tourist strip” with shops on both sides of the street.

The next day we spent some time at the Grand Haven beach taking in the bright sunshine and dipping our toes in the cool, clean, Lake Michigan waters.
Later we took in the most beautiful sunset. We all agreed it was the “second” most beautiful sunset we have all seen.

We must have taken close to 50 photo’s of it and it’s hard to determine which one looks the best. Of course photos do no justice to the actual view.
The next day another fellow classmate, Don and his wife Gayle, showed up and camped next to us. I didn’t know it at the time, but as kids, Don was my dad’s Free Press delivery boy! Talk about a small world. We decided to go into town for dinner this evening and chose Porto Bello Restaurant
After a great dinner we hung around for the Grand Haven Fountain Show  It lasted for about 20 minutes and not being charged to enjoy it made it all that much better. I tried to capture a photo, but it sure didn’t turn out very well. Be sure to click on the link just above to view their web site.

The next day a kite show on the beach was to be explored by us all. We weren’t sure exactly what that was going to be, and later found out that it was put on by the local businesses that sell the kites. They would let brave persons take a ride out above the lake if they wanted to “try out a kite”.

After returning back to the campground we all decided to take a ride on the Go-Carts. I have never rode a Go-Cart so this was going to be an experience. Don, I and Wilma had our own Go-Carts. Gary and Cheryl shared a “double seat” Go-Cart which allowed Cheryl to snap a few photo’s.
I haven’t received them as of yet so I can’t post them here now, but some of them came out pretty good for the conditions Cheryl had to take them. Wilma did snap a couple before we started. I’m on the right on the above photo, Don to the left.
Following that adventure was a burger dinner and campfire, which was our last evening at the park.
We all had a great time and look forward to doing another trip next year.
Until next time, be safe and God Bless.
